“This summer, the international team of instructors from “Sharena Fabrika” will train young people up to 18 years old”, shared Rositsa Mutafchieva, co-founder of "Sharena Fabrika", to bTV Radio. “We're starting this summer with something meaningful, useful, and fun.”
In the following lines you will learn more details about our children's summer camps, when we plan to officially open the school in Golyama Zhelyazna and other highlights from Rositsa Mutafchieva's interview with Nadezhda Vasileva for the program "For the City" on bTV Radio.
“Sharena Fabrika” is restoring an abandoned school in the Troyan village of Golyama Zhelyazna to transform it into an international culinary and crafts education center. After several years of serious work, the construction of the campus is approaching its final phase.
“It required an awful lot of work. This is really a long road for us. We expect the complex to launch next year.”
The project includes restoration and renovation of the primary school, construction of a completely new dormitory for the students, a renovated building for the international team of instructors who will live year-round in Golyama Zhelyazna, its own restaurant and 12 acres of its own arable land to produce some of the products for the culinary courses, several sports fields, etc. The goal of all this is to bring new educational, business, cultural and touristic revival on the topic of culinary not only in the region of Golyama Zhelyazna and the Troyan Balkan, but also in the Balkans.
“One of our missions is not only to spread the knowledge and principles of French cuisine – the “mother of all cuisines”, in partnership with one of the most prestigious culinary schools in the world – FERRANDI Paris, but also to contribute to defining Balkan cuisine and to establish it as an independent section of the world culinary scene. This is being done for the first time in such a structured way.”
The entire plan will be fully implemented when the construction of the Golyama Zhelyazna campus is completed. In the meantime, the team of teachers is preparing to welcome their first students from Bulgaria and the world to summer camps at a boutique hotel in the village of Oreshak, near the future campus of “Sharena Fabrika”.
The culinary instructors of “Sharena Fabrika” come from different parts of the world. The core consists of a Belgian, two French and three Bulgarians with extensive international experience, while guest lecturers in the Balkan cuisine training will come from Turkey, Greece and Serbia. Together they will lead the main programs of the culinary school – French and Balkan Cuisine, French Pastry и Bread and Bakery.
“Ние сме “Шарена Фабрика” и екипът ни е много шарен. Въпреки че има още работа, докато приключим инфраструктурно този наистина много комплексен проект около международното ни кулинарно училище – ние вече разполагаме с най-ценния ни ресурс – нашите кулинарни преподаватели със световно признание и български майстори занаятчии. Затова започваме с летните лагери още преди основната ни база да е готова.”
Summer camps at "Sharena Fabrika" will take place in July and are intended for children and young people from 10 to 18 years old. Three thematic weeks are planned - culinary, artisanal и adventurous, in each of which the children are divided into 3 age groups, with adapted programs. Teachers and students will communicate in English.
“We have excellent teachers and because we are constantly asked if we can offer something for children, we decided to start this summer. The entire month of July is associated with children's camps in the field of cooking, crafts and nature. We have created special training programs and routes for memorable adventures and fun in the heart of the magical Troyan Balkan and its landmarks. Anyone can sign up. The courses are now on our website.”
The first in the series of summer camps of “Sharena Fabrika” starts on July 12, the packages are all inclusive, and there is currently a large early bird discount (until May 15) and additional discounts for enrolling more than 1 child and for a longer period.
