A year ago, on September 30, 2023 In the yard of the school in the village of Golyama Zhelyazna, we welcomed relatives, friends and guests to officially present the "Sharena Zadruga" initiative and its project for building an International School of Culinary Arts and Crafts. "Colorful Factory"A year later, the future complex is in an active construction phase, which will focus the efforts of builders, architects and the team for the next year and a half.
2023
Construction activities began in March, 2024 with a focus on the future culinary school. Today it is in an advanced phase, and the rough construction is halfway through the building.
"New foundations have been completed for the entire building, the old building has been strengthened, and new structures for the future restaurant and café have been built. The hydro and thermal insulation packages for the foundations are ready, and we are boldly moving towards the second floor," the project's chief architect shares Alexander Vassilev. "Bricks, wood, and stone have been preserved and will be reused - the bricks will be for the interior walls and cladding, the wood for wooden structures - roofs, interiors, decorations, window sills, etc., and the stone will be used for the fence and for the plinth cladding."

"We are working intensively, with the main priority being to preserve and strengthen the existing structure of the school building. Our goal is to preserve as much of it as possible in order to preserve the authentic spirit of the school. The structures up to the second floor are already in their final stages, and the execution of the slabs on this floor will begin as soon as possible. In parallel, we are in the preparation stage for the installation of all new engineering installations – electrical, plumbing and HVAC, and the process will begin with the installation in the underground levels of the building.", said the project manager Dimitar Vassilev.

Construction activities are also underway in the building planned to be the Teachers' Home, where everything necessary to create the new layout has been completed.
The roof has been removed, drainage has been installed, and the site plumbing and electrical connections have been laid, the foundations are hydro and thermally insulated, and the electrical installation has been installed at the design locations. After the installation of the internal plumbing installations is completed, the closing of the walls will begin and the transition to the next stage will begin.
By the end of the year, it is planned to complete all activities related to the construction of the new reinforced concrete skeleton of the building, after which the implementation of the new roof structures will begin. In parallel with these activities, the implementation of all engineering installations on the floors will also be carried out, ensuring synchronization between the different stages of construction.
The road is long, the work is a lot, but "Rome wasn't built in a day," as the saying goes.
