Danny and Gabo's crazy journey
For May 29 Dani and Gabo leave Bregovo and plan to finish in Varna less than two weeks later.
They will cover the entire route of over 540 km by pushing, with between 50 and 70 kilometers expected per day. various fresh products and will learn to combine them, prepare recipes step by step and have fun.
Along the way, they will pass through the children's holiday in Kozloduy, ride in the skate park in Ruse and in the city park in Varna.
Anyone who wants to be part of the adventure (and the history) is welcome to join them on the road.
Daniel Dimov
At the age of 10, Danny moved to the United States with his mother. After being kicked off the local football team, he discovered his first true passion in life – skateboarding. At just 16, he became the manager of the local skate park in Nashville, Tennessee, where he managed 8 people and ran a restaurant and skate shop. He taught skateboarding to groups of 70 children. When he turned 20, however, he decided to seek his happiness elsewhere. With 2 backpacks, a skateboard in hand and a one-way ticket, he went to Hawaii, where among the indigenous Kanaka Maoli people discovered his calling – organic farming.
“One day I will build a skate park in the center of the perfect permaculture garden!”
After completing a number of professional qualification courses and certification in the 12 principles of permaculture, he returned to his roots in Bulgaria. Today, Daniel takes care of the gardens at the School of Culinary Arts and Crafts “Sharena Fabrika”, where he is also an instructor for the Certification Course in Permaculture Design. His mission is to help more people create a stronger and more harmonious connection with nature, others and themselves.
Gabriel Iskrev
Gabo, as everyone calls him, is 24 years old. He is the first in the world to cross Europe from its northernmost to its southernmost point on a skateboard. In 2024, in the name of adventure, Gabriel covered 3245 km in 77 days – from North Cape, Norway to Tarifa, Spain. He received his first skateboard one Christmas when he was 10 and has not been apart from it since then. Along with this passion, he traveled around Europe on skate tours – Serbia, Greece, Cyprus, then London, Paris, and finally moved to live for a year in Barcelona – the mecca of skateboarding in Europe. He currently lives in Sofia and works as a paramedic in a Government Hospital. His mission is to help more children play sports and live healthy lives.
“Every day I think about where I'm going to go for a ride – it's like an obsession. After crossing Bulgaria, I'm leaving with a one-way ticket to Sri Lanka and India!”
It's hard to believe (at least it was hard for us), but Gabo and Danny came up with the idea of crossing Bulgaria on a skateboard independently of each other and at the same time, inspired by an American skater.
From "Sharena Fabrika" we decided to stand shoulder to shoulder with the two enthusiasts and support them in making this historic journey together - the first crossing of Bulgaria on a skateboard.
