Project in development
Craftsmanship in Bulgaria is an integral and important part of the formation and development of the Bulgarian cultural and economic heritage. The diverse customs, originating from the local mythology and traditions in each region, have shaped craftsmanship in a diverse and very different way from other cultures. In the concept of creating an International School of Culinary and Crafts, we wanted to distinguish the craft heritage of the Bulgarians and give it the necessary respect in one of the most emblematic craft regions of Bulgaria - Troyan.
Combining the natural beauty, the strong spirit of the Balkan people and their deep connection to cultural traditions and crafts, the International School "Sharena Fabrika" will be the link between traditions and the future. In a distinctive way, we have created the opportunity for all future students to study in long programs and short craft courses, living in the authentic environment of a place that preserves important symbols and specifics of our culture.
The "Colorful Factory" craft school is set to open its doors in 2027. 16 creative studios will welcome all those wishing to delve into the specifics and peculiarities of the Bulgarian crafts of ceramics, pottery, textiles, embroidery, icon painting and wood carving.
The recruitment campaign will begin in 2026, when the programs and craft courses themselves will be announced.
